AimGel Mouse T Cell Activator
Mouse T cell activation on cell-sized hydrogel microparticles

AimGel Mouse T Cell Activator

ATC01-0050M | Research Use Only
AimGel Mouse T Cell Activator presents anti-CD3 and anti-CD28 signals on soft hydrogel microparticles built to the size of a real mouse T cell (7-12 µm). The fluid lipid membrane lets those signals move freely across the surface, the way they do on a natural antigen-presenting cell. Activation is gentle and effective, whether you start from isolated mouse T cells or straight from PBMC.

Expand and purify in one step
Start from mouse PBMC and skip the isolation step. AimGel selectively expands T cells, taking a starting population of ~14% CD3+ to ~98% CD3+ by day 5, alongside ~47-fold expansion by day 7.
Viability stays between 80% and 92% across the week. Gentle signal presentation means cells come through activated rather than stressed.
Built to mimic an antigen-presenting cell
The soft hydrogel core matches the mechanical stiffness and size of a real cell, while a mobile lipid bilayer lets activation signals travel across the surface just as they would on a natural APC. That biomimicry is why AimGel needs significantly fewer activation signals than rigid magnetic beads while activating more effectively, and also more gently.
Self-degradable via hydrolysis
As hydrogel microparticles, AimGel self-degrades via hydrolysis within 7-10 days, so a standard expansion needs no debeading step. Need them gone sooner? The included digesting buffer clears them in 30 minutes at 37 °C.

Data

Mouse T cell proliferation
Expansion of mouse T cells activated with AimGel, compared with untreated control, over 7 days. AimGel-activated cells reached approximately 47-fold expansion by day 7.

Viability, purity and activation
Mouse T cells activated with AimGel, starting from mouse PBMC. Left: viability remained between 80% and 92% across days 3, 5 and 7. Centre: CD3+ fraction of live cells rose from ~14% at day 0 to ~98% by day 5, showing selective expansion of T cells without a separate isolation step. Right: ~98% of the CD3+ population was CD25+ at day 5, confirming activation.
AimGel FAQs
Can I start from mouse PBMC, or do I need isolated T cells?
Either. AimGel selectively expands CD3+ T cells: starting from mouse PBMC at ~14% CD3+, the population reaches ~98% CD3+ by day 5, so a separate isolation step is often unnecessary. See the protocol for seeding guidance for each starting material.
How do I remove the AimGel microparticles?
They self-degrade by hydrolysis within 7-10 days in culture. The rate is pH-dependent, so the exact timing varies with your medium. If you need them cleared sooner, the included digesting buffer fully degrades them in 30 minutes at 37 °C.
Can I re-stimulate my mouse T cells?
Yes. Growth typically slows after day 10, and re-stimulating with AimGel promotes continued expansion with minimal activation-induced exhaustion. See the protocol for ratios.
Important: do not use the digesting buffer if you plan to re-stimulate. Residual dextranase will degrade freshly added AimGel unless it is thoroughly washed out.
Do I need feeder cells?
No. AimGel is a fully synthetic, feeder-free alternative with no animal components.
